Dr. Andres Matoso is an Associate Professor of Pathology, Urology and Oncology, and the Director of the Immunohistochemistry Laboratory at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Matoso is part of the urologic pathology consult service at Johns Hopkins Hospital which reviews over 10,000 consults a year from around the world. He is the Director of the first combined Genitourinary and Digital pathology research fellowship at Johns Hopkins. His research interests include molecular alterations in bladder cancer development and progression, the use of enhanced cystoscopy to detect CIS, and characterization of rare urologic tumors. Dr. Matoso lectures widely in the United States and internationally. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles, 3 book chapters, and 1 textbook and received many awards for his work including the Stowell-Orbison Award from the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. He is a member of the American Urologic Association and the Genitourinary Pathology Society.
